Hi! welcome back to the family! Today I made 3 more recipes! I’m trying to do more these days, like at the beginning. Today I made Buttered rice, parsley carrots and creamed mushrooms. To start off, I blanched some rice until just tender. Then I drained, and placed in a pan with some butter. Then I placed in a pan of boiling water, covered, and in the onion for half an hour. No. It just wasn’t cooked. If there isn’t any water, the rice won’t cook! So I figured I had done the recipe, the recipe itself failed, so I added some water and back in the onion.
Next, I made buttered carrots. I’ve done it before so I won’t go into much detail. Basically I cooked them in some water and butter for 20 minutes covered, and sprinkled with parsley. Then I did my mushrooms. I sautéed them in hot butter and oil for 5 minutes roughly, then I added some shallots and cooked for 2 minutes more. After that, I added some flour, I cooked it for a while, then I added some cream and boiled it down. I let it sit for a while because of my rice, so it split slightly, but it was delish. They were creamy, the carrots were deliscious and the parsley really compliments them. The rice was just rice. Way too much faff for rice. I could have done it better and easier I I just cooked it and added a knob of butter. Not a great win.
So that was another bumper day! I’m pleased with what I made today. But anyway, I gotta go yeet a child. Bye!
