I’m behind on the challenge. This christmas thing has taken a toll on my cooking. I am also behind on my blogging, so I’m not sure wether I have missed anything . I think this is the right thing on the right day, so if in the off chance you look at everything that I cooked at the end, and it seems like I’ve missed any, this is why. Anyway, I made some ham in a tomato sauce.
To start off, I seared the ham. I then removed it from the pan, added some tomatoes and onions and garlic, boiled for a while and added the ham back. I covered it and put in the oven for half an hour. I then proceeded to make some gratinated leeks. I braised them, as I did on Tuesday , boiling them covered with water and butter until tender (about half an hour). But then I put some mornay sauce ( bechamel with cheese) on them plus some extra on top for good measure, and put them under the griiilllll. The leek were great. They were cheesy and just all round good. The ham I don’t really get. I mean, it wasn’t bad perse, I mean how can it be? its ham in a tomato sauce, but not the greatest
