At a service station in France I bought a master chef book for €7.00 using change from car parks. When we got home from France we looked through the book for recipes, one of them was Poulet Basques. Then a few weeks later we cooked it. Me and dad (dad was my sous chef). We cooked the chicken with rice and presented it with chicken on one side and rice in a ring on the other.
To mondez le tomate is a French phrase which means skinning tomatoes by plunging them into boiling water. We also de stalked and de seeded the peppers. Then we put it into the oven for 30 minutes. When we took them out and they were a bit black but that’s good. Then we prepared the chicken by putting it skin up on a tray, cover it in olive oil, sprinkle it with salt and pepper and sprinkle each one with paprika and put it in the oven.
We fried onions and garlic in a pan and put our tomatoes all chopped in with the onions and garlic. Then I sliced the peppers into strips putting them in as I went.
Then we fried cooked rice with onions. When the chicken was nearly cooked. We put it in the sauce. We served the rice in a ring by putting rice in little metal rings and patting the rice down. We were both intense as we lifted the first ring up. A succes! It worked I was so glad, I had always wanted to do rice like that. Then we put sauce on the bottom then chicken then more sauce on top. We ate it in front of Richard III nazified. It was a bit too spicy but all in all it was lovely if I say so myself.
