Okay. Today was a little more productive, 3 recipes. Not incredible, but good. If I keep an average of 3 recipes a day, I’ll get up to date in no time. I made veal chops, buttered rice and creamed beans. I started by boilng my rice for half an hour. Then when I was ready to eat I added some melted butter.
Then I fried some veal chops in butter and oil for 2 minutes a side. Then I removed them and poured in some vermouth. I then reduced with some onion and some garlic. I added the chops, covered the pan and then put in the oven for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, I blanched some green beans for about 5 minutes. I then drained them, ran some cold water over them to revitalise them and to bring back colour. I put in a covered pan with some cream, and boiled until it had reduced by half. It was all really good. The rice needed a lot of salt to take it away from rice pudding land, but the chops were great ( they tasted a lot like pork) and the beans were surprisingly tasty.
That’s it! I’m up to date! I did it! I’m no longer held back by Breaking Bad , because I finished it (the ending was sublime)… Now I have Sons of Anarchy to deal with…
