Food: The oysters were OK but the shallot vinegar was way too strong. Usually I prefer shallot vinegar to Tabasco; but here, I prefer Tabasco. My octopus casserole was great! It came with garlic bread and rouille. Both were good; the casserole had too much sundried tomatoes though! Mum’s fish ramen was fish of the day – well to me anyway – ! It was amazing, I had a ramen for breakfast ‘en plus!’ Dad and Janet both had fish soup and it was good, it came with rouille and garlic bread. It had lots of shellfish and flavours. It just seemed a bit too many flavours – just me? Probablement! Mum had green tea as well and it was good. Dad said that his coffee was “Not awesome; but good!”
Service: good, when I accidentally dropped my fork he was here in a snap. However, when we had finished the oysters there were two – yes, two – waiters, for me that’s too many.
Atmosphere: ruined by the smell, but other than that, fine!
Quirky bits:
Little Bits That Are Nice:
Bad Bits: A horrible smell that reminds me of a school bully.

Nice write up Iggy – all sounds a bit too fishy for me and the smell of fish and school bullies are surely not my favourite smells – but it’s alway good to hear about your dinners and to know that you are all well and have such wonderfully healthy and experimental appetites – keep’em coming.
much love bonsoir Suki

Ne vous inquiétez pas! I will!

Yes, an enjoyable read! I am curious to know what produces a smell which reminds you of a school bully. Is it the pong of fragile alpha-malism? Or that indelible musk akin to narrow-mindedness? Can a smell be described, or can it only be felt? Do dogs see with their noses? I am curious.
On another note, this weekend I plan on amusing my bouche with a soupçon of seriously smelly DURIAN – the fruit with a whiff like no other. I will keep you informed.
Bonne journée, mon frère!
