Food: This place does one long tapas menu so its a very long review. The “Dumpling” was really nice, a spiced potato case around a melting gooey cheese centre, with sechuan pepper and fennel seeds, served with a hefty amount of well-dressed beetrot salad. Good job! Next was “Sweet Heart”, it was a beautifuly chargrilled/blowtorched (not too little but not too much) and steamed cabbage heart, served on a bed of celery, beetroot and cauliflower salad , all dyed red with the B pigment (beetroot juice). Also with sechuan and fennel.
Then, the hake; filet of hake served on crispy seaweed, with a seafood bisque. This really was good, Mum was put off hake by Oliver’s salt experience, but we decided to try and get back on the horse by ordering 2… And it worked!! The bisque was a tad too salty but that didn’t really matter. Next up: “Squash + Pear”. Bit of a disappointment. A squash mash which was almost citrussy (Must have been the lemons!) with some slices of cep and a bit of pear.¯\_(ツ)_/¯. What’s the point? I mean, it wasn’t unpleasant – we ate it all – but it wasnt necessary. And now… the ray. Ray served with an apple sauce and plums. It wasnt very nice. Lets be honest. The apple didnt fit, and the plums didnt work with the ray. Ouch. Then, the pidgeon! it was nice slices of pidgeon on a bed of crispy crispy carrots. and a cucumber sauce. It was really good. So good we ordered 2 of them!!! Best yet in my opinion (wait for the pud! that was amazing). Next, the venison, it was venison on a potimarron puree with chocolate shavings. Great! Very well cooked. A bit too little choco though. And now the moment youve all been waiting for… THE PUDDING!!! It was literally the best pud ive ever had! And ive had some good ones! it was an apple milk gel/jelly, with a ginger sponge crumb, toffee apple and apple chunks! The work of a madman, but beautiful
Service: Very nice, and very friendly.
Atmosphere: Music way too loud, so a bit of an assault.
little bits that are nice: you see the chef cooking.
Bathroom: Not the best, the lock is high up, too high for me to reach even!
Score: 9,5/10
